Premiere film This documentary, follows the personal discussions, people and places related to four women originally from Syria and Lebanon — Rogine, Hanin, Waad and Zeina. In their new cities, Zutphen, Washington DC, Oslo and Sharjah, they question feminist issues, daily life, and political matters among other. Is exile a choice or an accident? What is home? How to behave in our new countries? Does the abuse of the word ‘refugees’ affect us? Freedom is a habit I’m trying to learn is co-commissioned by If I Can’t Dance I Don’t… Lees meer Want to be Part of Your Revolution in Amsterdam, with the support of Sharjah Art Foundation and the Van Abbe Museum in Eindhoven. Deze film is onderdeel van Films for Thoughts, een platform dat dialoog en uitwisseling van ideeën mogelijk maakt. Films for Thoughts organiseert events, met name filmavonden en discussies, waarbij we thema’s aanspreken die raken aan issues die relevant zijn in onze huidige multiculturele samenleving. De tickets zijn met 15 euro duurder dan andere films, maar voor elke 3 verkochte kaartjes nodigen we een nieuwkomer als gast uit om de film bij te wonen.
