Drie leden van een Afghaanse familie beginnen als vluchtelingen een nieuw leven in Iran. Ze zijn zich er nog niet van bewust dat ze een decennialange strijd tegemoet gaan om zich ‘thuis’ te kunnen voelen. Mohammad, Leila en Qasem proberen vol goede hoop het leven weer op te bouwen, maar zitten gevangen in een staat waar de continue dreiging van politiegeweld, bureaucratie en gewapende conflicten alles beheerst.
